Welcome to Durdells Avenue Surgery Online

Durdell Avenue SurgeryThe doctors and staff at Durdells Avenue surgery in Kinson, Bounemouth are proud to offer the highest standard of patient-centred healthcare.  We run many clinics for the management of chronic diseases such as asthma and diabetes and offer a wide variety of other medical services including antenatal and postnatal care, childhood vaccinations, well-person check-ups.

In addition to everything you need to know about the practice you will also find a wealth of health-related information in the menu on the right hand side. Please have a look around and do send us some feedback if you like.

The Surgery Building

The surgery is a purpose-built two storey building. No steps have to be negotiated to enter it, and most doors and one toilet easily admit a wheelchair.  There is ample car park space attached to The Surgery.

We are delighted to inform you that, due to retirement, Kinson Road Medical Centre and Durdells Avenue are to merge from 1st October 2017.

What will this mean to you, as our patient?

  • Better access and more GP appointments

  • Choice of appointments across sites including: 440 Kinson Road & West Howe Clinic at Cunningham Crescent

  • Resulting in care closer to home

  • Increased number of male/female GPs to choose from

  • Access to an enhanced nursing team

  • Wider range of specialist clinical skills

  • Availability of additional services

We very much believe that the time and opportunity to merge is best for patients and staff as it will ensure we are in a strong position to meet the demands of a changing and challenged NHS system.

Across the UK, practices are modifying how primary care is provided in order to meet the rising demand of patient numbers and health complexities. Our aim is to develop a stronger GP practice that delivers quality services for our patients and a desire to improve local healthcare services for you and the local community. We believe this merger will place us in a position where we can achieve this.

If you wish to participate in the Patient Representative Group please contact the surgery.

Our practice now assigns a named GP to all our patients. If you would like to know which doctor has been allocated to you please ask at reception.  Please continue to book appointments in the same way and you can still continue to see any available doctor at the Practice.

Please enquire if you would like to join our Practice Patient Group
